The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC57

We wish all of our US players and visitors a
Very Happy Thanksgiving!

We are so glad you are here!
This past challenge, we celebrated
'Player Appreciation Week'
with three wonderful sponsors.
If you are new to The Cafe, we hope you will
become a follower and even better yet, a player!
We have loads of fun around here!

Before we get to this week's challenge, we have a
Design Team Call Update

As mentioned a couple weeks ago, we had close
to 120 submissions and it's taking us a little bit longer
to get through them all.  As you know, our senior DT
span from the US to the UK, so with time differences, etc
we are taking our time to make sure we really give every
consideration to each applicant...so hang in with us.
We hope to be in touch with each one in the next week or so.

Which brings us to our next bit of news to share....
One of the reasons we issued a DT call was because we
knew some of our girls would be moving on to the new
creative adventures.  Tonight, sadly....we say goodbye to
two amazing designers who have been with us for the
past nine months....
Lisa Somerville
and
Suzanne Czosek
These girls have been such a valuable inspiration to
all of our players and will be so missed.  Along with
their wonderful design skills, they have both been
instrumental in bringing new players and sponsors
to The Cafe.  We wish them all the best as they
continue on their creative journey and know they'll
never be too far away.

This week's challenge, which is being hosted

"I love the way old pegs go all browny-grey when
they are weathered and this week's color photo was
a perfect representation of that"

We are happy to welcome another fabby new
sponsor all the way from the UK....

Stamp Attack Art Stamps
has been designing and manufacturing stamps for six years.
They focus on 'themed' plates and use unusual images
from their own private collection of ephemera
and photographs.

Each of our designers were given a stamp plate

The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC55

It's time for another 'challenge'...literally!
Are you ready to tackle these amazing colors?

Before we get started, we want to
thank you
for the overwhelming interest in our
open spots on our Design Team.
Our Senior Designers now have the task of
pouring over the 118 submissions that came in.
For those of you who did apply, we want you to know
that we hope to have decisions and contacts made
no later than November 30th.  We will let you
know one way or another.....
So hang tight!
Your host for this week's challenge is
Senior Designer, Sarah Anderson

"This architects' office is just around the corner from me so I pass it regularly
and I've always found the choice of paint colours intriguing.
Recently it had a fresh coat of paint, and combined with seeing a brightly coloured card
on a blog I thought 'why not try these colours for our challenge?!'
When you look at them within a design palette, they are essentially
two shades of blue and three of red, so, why not give it a go?"

How about yet another new sponsor to The Cafe??!!!

Innovative Stamp Creations offers deeply etched realistic images,
specializing in nature elements and the faces of women.
They are generously offering this to our 'Cup of the Week'...

Joining us as our Guest Designer this week is
ISC's owner, Betsy Griffin.

"In 1999 I was work force reduced and could not find
the ideal part time job  and decided to stay home
and become a full time mom.
One day I decided to make invitations for my son’s 1st birthday.
After a visit to a craft store was said and done,
I had purchased $100.00 worth of stamps/pads/more!  Not quite sure how to use them,
I decided to buy a couple of rubber stamp magazines
and they turned out divine.
One thing lead to another and it has been a dream come true!
Before ISC, I made card samples for Sonlight Impressions
and was an Event Coordinator for a local Michaels craft store.
Most recently, I accepted a part time social worker position
helping low income families.
I consider myself a mixed media artist and
thoroughly enjoy altering anything and everything!
The smaller the surface the more my creative juices flow."

Not only did ISC generously provide beautiful images
for our own DT to create with,
but they are also offering our followers
25% off a purchase made by Nov. 14th.
Just use coupon code playdate25 Offer
