The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC80

What a week!
Beautifully creative entries from each one
of our players which always makes for
a hard decision on the part of our design team,
who all have a hand in choosing our
'Cup of the Week' & Honorable Mentions.

How about this beautiful color story from The Creative Mint
chosen by
Here is the lovely creation she put together....

We are super excited to share this next lady with you!

Please welcome this week's Guest Designer...

" Hello, my name is Kim Hughes and I am the face behind Paper Smooches
Think of “Paper Smooches” as using ink to kiss your paper with our clear stamps!
You may recognize my name from the stamp collection that I Illustrated for Cornish Heritage Farms in the past. Cornish Heritage Farms closed their doors and I was able to purchase the rights to all of my images. In time, I hope to re-introduce some of my stamp images and sets here at Paper Smooches.
I missed Illustrating and although I could have worked with over a dozen stamp companies that approached me, I felt that it was important for me to share my talent with you personally.
I begin by sketching images and concepts in pencil. I then draw every sentiment and image with a black pen on white paper a zillion times until I get them just the way I like it. Ok, maybe a zillion is an exaggeration, but sometimes it takes me more than 30 tries to get it exactly right. (practice makes perfect) My stamp sets are truly a labor of love and I am thrilled to share my designs with all of you. My images reflect my silly personality and I hope they will bring a smile to your face.

Paper Smooches stamps are made in the USA, from the highest quality photopolymer. Excellent customer service is very important to me. I am always available via e-mail and phone if you have any questions or concerns.
I am proud to be an artist. I drew pictures at a very early age, which turned into a love of painting pictures. Over ten years ago, I ventured into the paper crafting and stamping world and have loved every minute of the creative process. I paper craft and/or stamp nearly every single day. I have had over 900 projects published in multiple magazines and idea books and I was a Paper Crafts magazine Go-to Gal and DT Coordinator for Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine. I have worked closely with many magazines, manufactures and scrapbook stores and have learned so much from working with all of them. I designed numerous fonts and sentiments for Paper Crafts magazine, Creating Keepsakes magazine and ScrapNFonts. Paper Smooches stamps are created by a stamper for stampers."

Now look what Kim has brought with her to give our
'Cup of the Week' Winner....

Many of our designers played with their own
Paper Smooches images too!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC79

Welcome back to The Play Date Cafe!
Hope you are enjoying your time with us.
It's so exciting to see all the new players and followers
that come along each week.

Your color host this week is one of our

Sarah has been burning the candle at both ends with
a new job and wonderful creative opportunities
right in her own home town.
So she will be sharing her project with us a little later.

We are so very happy to introduce this week's
Guest Designer to The Cafe....

"I am a stay-at-home mom to three wonderful kids and have been married to my high school sweetheart for 8 years.  I started making cards while I was in college and have been hooked ever since.  I have been a member of the Hero Arts Design Team for the past two years and I feel so lucky to work with such a talented and sweet group of girls.
I love to create all types of crafts...home decor, kids crafts, cards and most recently I'm learning to sew.  A few of my other loves are to shopping, chocolate, organizing, graphic design, volleyball and baking.  If I can get my kids to nap at the same time during the day and have a little crafty time to myself I am a happy girl."

Our designers love to work with the stamps
and products that our most generous sponsors
provide and this week is no exception.

"Hero Arts is a family-owned business, a green business
and our wood, Cling & POLYclear stamps are proudly
made right here in the USA!
(you can learn more HERE).
We are dedicated to our customers, passionate about
our community and grateful to be a part of the
wonderful & thriving craft of stamping.
to join the community and find inspiration every day!

This week's 'Cup of the Week' will win....
