The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC85


It's a new chapter beginning for The Play Date Cafe!

Beginning this week, you will be truly inspired as our
Color Story Coordinator and designer,
Jaclyn Miller
brings you each week's color story inspiration.

 Each week, Jaclyn gives our Design Team the
general idea behind the colors using 
her own color interpretations
and we will share them with you as a guideline.

It has always been the goal of our challenge to
not dictate specific colors
so you can use your own interpretation in creativity.
We guarantee you that we keep that in mind when
we are judging our favorite entries.  We know that
not all will see exactly the same colors...colors can
vary from desktop monitors to laptop screens.

"Hi there! My name is Anya Schrier, and I am so excited to join you as this week’s Guest Designer for The Play Date Café!  Married to my high school sweetheart and mom to two doggies, we call Pittsburgh home.  I like to bake, bird watch, walk, and scuba dive.  I have been stamping off and on for years, but really started to get serious about five years ago.  I am proud to serve on a few Design Teams and share my crafty ventures on my blog, www.aschoss.blogspot.com.  I have a passion for crafting, and I get a creative kick by participating in challenges like this one – thanks for having me this week!"

The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC84



What a beautiful gallery from this past week!!!
We know how much you all LOVE the
Color Splash Challenge 
and we appreciate that you remind us each time with
such beautiful creativity.

We also want to thank you for all of the lovely wishes
sent on to Sarah as she moves on to her new
creative adventures.  We definitely miss her presence
already, but couldn't be more happy to share that she
will be showing in her very first Art Exhibition
this coming week and we wish her much success!!!

Cafe News!!!

We are really excited to be moving a couple of our
designers into new positions here in The Cafe.
Michele Gross, who joined the PDCC this last term
will be joining the Senior DT & continuing to
work with our amazing sponsors.
Beginning next week, Jaclyn Miller will take on
the new role of Color Story Coordinator.
Our senior team has enjoyed hosting unique color
combos each week for over a year and a half.
Jaclyn will bring her very creative graphic
design background to some of the most
creative color stories 
you'll experience!
We are blessed to have so much talent on our
team and to encourage our designers to use
their full talents here in The Cafe is what brings

What a week!

Not only did we have an AmAzInG number of
players, but our follower numbers increased
(which means new people are finding us).

It was a blast celebrating with not only the PDCC
DT Alumni but also the girls of the
Unity Stamp Company DT.

So today begins year #2!
What a great way to start than with everyone's
favorite...it's The Color Splash Challenge!

What is it?
It is Black & White with just a hint of a specified color
and this week, it's Burgundy.

Senior Designer Sarah Anderson is your host
this week and here's what she had to say
about this beautiful photo...

"Whilst out hunting for a photograph for this week's colour splash
I came across this image by trunkguy.
He had been playing with a colour splash app on his iphone
(so jealous, I so wanted an iphone!!) and produced this image.
 I fell in love with the colours, and I happen to love Acquilega too.
Gorgeous, gorgeous flowers!"

"It's our 1 year anniversary!
 Mark's Finest Papers has been a dream of ours for over 10 years.
Mark and I have been trying to find a way to support my parents
and ourselves in a manner that I would be able to be the caregiver 
to them and remain a stay at home mother.
In my former life, I owned a newspaper and printing company. 
My father is a retired printing instructor. My mother is an artist. 
Markie is a wonderful helper and Speedy the Cat is our inspiration.
If you combine all these gifts together, along with love, hard work and
Mark's finance degree, we will most certainly make this a success.
We feel that all things happen for a reason, 
and when the opportunity arose, we saw this as a sign 
to move ahead and follow this path."
