The Color Splash!

How to splash?
Simply create something in Black and then add just a splash of color
THIS WEEK IT'S A SPLASH OF RED!!!!

Remember...it's ONLY A SPLASH & ONLY RED!
(all other color splashes will be deleted!)

In Cafe News...
We are so happy to have another new
Private Blend Designer
coming to The Cafe!!

Please meet
Stacy Rodriguez

"My name is Stacy Rodriguez and I'm a midwest girl from Illinois.
I have been scrapbooking for about 8 years now.  I love every minute of creating cards, layouts, and altered items. I also work at my LSS so I ALWAYS have my hands on scrap goodies!!  I have been with hubby for 15 years now, and we have a daughter who just started high school this year and she is the main focus of almost all of my layouts!!   When I am scrapbooking you will always find a cup of coffee or a Dr. Pepper by my side to keep the mojo going.  I try and create something or work on a project everyday.  My scrapbook addiction is letter stickers.  Any kind, color, size you name it I love my letter stickers.
I want to thank everyone here for welcoming me as the newest
Private Blend Designer.

We are so pleased to welcome
a wonderful new sponsor to the Cafe...

I have always believed there was a need for stamp sets that crafters could use in their cards, scrapbook pages and other crafty projects for the boys and men in their life.  I have searched for stamps that could fill that niche  but would only find a random stamp set here and there.  I was tired of the same old fishing and sports stamp sets.  I could not rely on the craft market to meet my needs so I went out and started my own stamp company...TradeFish Designs!
Now don't get the wrong idea, you can use the images and sentiments in my stamps for feminine cards or projects too!  I am creating stamps that you can use for anyone...think of them as "unisexy" stamps.  All the designs are a product of my own quirky design style and sense of humor, as well as a reflection of the boys and men I have had the privilege to know and love.  I hope you enjoy TradeFish Designs stamps and create wonderful projects for the people you care about.
TradeFish Designs Company Pledge:
There will be no flowers, butterflies and/or girly swirls in any TradeFish Designs stamp sets ever!

This weeks
Cup of the Week
will win a...

$20 shopping spree at TradeFish Designs!

A special thank you to TradeFish Designs for providing
our designers with this week's images...

And here is the Splash work of
The Play Date Design Team...

It is time for challenge #26 here in The Cafe.

Lots happening here this week...
We have a fabulous celebrity guest designer
and a really fun sponsor,
so let's get right to it, shall we?!

This week, we are thrilled to have
Mod Podge Rocks as our sponsor!

Amy Anderson is the awesome host of this
fun and fabulous blog and she is offering this
great Mod Podge 'Starter Pack' to our

This starter pack reminds us all that...
'it's not your mama's Mod Podge'!
There are just so many fabulous formulas
for more projects than ever.
Make some time to pop over to
Mod Podge Rocks and tell them
The Play Date Cafe sent you  : )

This week's celebrity guest designer is
Jen Tapler

You may know Jen from...well...
She hates 'tooting her own horn' but
here she is to introduce herself:

"Aloha!
I am so honored and excited to be playing
along with the Play Date Cafe girls this week!
I live on the beautiful island of Maui
with my husband Joel and my 3 year old son, Dean.
I've been scrapbooking and stamping
for a couple of years now and am
completely addicted to all things paper!
I am currently on the design team for
as well as Paper Craft Planet.
I am really into hybrid papercrafting
(digi meets traditional)
and serve on the Hybrid Creative Team
Libby Weifenbach as well as a freelance
I host the Scrapbook Sketch Challenge
'Scrappy Sunday' over at PCP.
I enjoy spending time with my family,
hanging out at the beach, hiking, surfing, camping,
paddleboarding and just enjoying the beauty of
our island home."

The color story this week was chosen by
Julie Ranae.  Inspired by the fabulous
Sundance.com catalog, yummy eye-candy for all!
"Feel free to use silver or gray along with
clay, cream and turquoise-y blue.
IT'S YOUR INTERPRETATION
so have fun!"

Your design team hostess-with-the-mostess

"I love color challenges. It makes me think outside the box.
However, the hardest thing for me when working with color
challenges, is picking which sketch
I would like to use. I had three sketches this week--so it
was hard to pick one that would showcase the colors well:}"

PDCC Design Team Update

 For this week's challenge,

DESIGN TEAM CALL UPDATE

Rather than have some of you wonder and fret,
we thought an update was in order.

The emails have gone out to those who
have been chosen...but we are waiting on a
couple of replies.  A deadline has been set
for responses, so if you have not been
contacted, there is still an opportunity for you.

Also...a few NEW opportunities have arisen
for the applicants of the PDCC Design Team,
so those contacts will be made soon.

We hope to have all contacts made no later than Tuesday.
